A protein synthesis video to get you started

Thought that this image is ideal to introduce the entire process of protein synthesis to you. Make sure you understand where every stage takes place, the organelles or structures involved and the stages of the process. This is not photosynthesis or respiration, but the learning curve is the same. Once again you need to be able to compartmentalize each stage as well as understand how each stage connects together. Also a good idea to understand how other processes that you have learned fit into this new process (like DNA replication, or the cell cycle, mutations, etc.) It is imperative that you understand how we "read DNA" so that you can understand the synthesis of proteins and how it connects to our next concept of gene expression in eukaryotic and prokaryotic cells. ~ Mrs. Lyon
